Key Terms
Parametric Equations
A system where x and y are described as functions of a third variable, called the _, usually 't' for time.
Parameter
The _ variable, typically 't', used to define x and y in parametric equations.
Vector-Valued Function
A function that maps a real number 't' to a _ in a coordinate plane, typically written as r(t) = <x(t), y(t)>.
Position Vector
The vector r(t) = <x(t), y(t)> that describes an object's _ in the plane at a given time 't'.
Velocity Vector
The derivative of the position vector, v(t) = r'(t) = <x'(t), y'(t)>, indicating both the _ and __________ of motion.
